All In Daily Devotional March 9: God’s Word is Truth

 First Redeemer Church

God’s Word is Truth

“Sanctify them by the truth; Your word is truth.”

John 17:17

A world full of “isms” is exhausting. More tiring than we realize is a buffet of unlimited options screaming what we should believe, how we should feel, and which empty pursuit to chase.

Do you, like me, know this all too well? When we run in other directions, we fail. When we stake a claim on what falters, we must pick up and find new ground every time. That is a hollow way to live, not how we were created to thrive. God’s truth is firm ground on which to stand or walk.

In a world of “isms,” we need absolutes.

God’s Word delivers because God Himself is truth. He is unwavering and completely dependable. Tides do not shift with Him. Truth begins with Him, and His Word perfectly reflects who He is.

The Bible is unlike any other.

It is a good and perfect gift.

It is a power beyond our own.

It allows us to see through a God-filtered lens. In it, we find wisdom not based on fleeting emotion or changing tide. Through it, God invites our burdens and reminds us who we are because of who He is. Abiding in the truth of God’s Word brings hope and healing. We were meant to anchor our lives to this unbending certainty.

The world is full of hungry people stuffing themselves with what does not satisfy them. They long for honest answers without even realizing what they are chasing. They need God, and they need His Word. His truth does not fluctuate when all else does.

The lingering distaste of other buffet offerings declares that God’s truth stands alone. Though the road is not easy and the current continues to swell, anchor deep in God’s Word. The satisfaction found there is worth gorging on every single time.

When the Son sets free, that is freedom indeed.

To where else could we run?

Who else holds the words of life?

We’re All In.

o   God, we praise You that Your Word is constant when all else falters and steady when nothing else satisfies.

o   Forgive us for looking elsewhere and for feasting on empty pursuits.

o   Help us to establish our lives on Your unchanging Word.

o   We pray Your Word and truth are clearly seen in our church and in us so others can know and see for themselves the only freedom that sets free.
