All In Daily Devotional March 6: God's Word is God-Breathed
First Redeemer Church
God’s Word is God-Breathed
“All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking,
for correcting, for training in righteousness.”
2 Timothy 3:16
God breathes life. He poured out His breath to give us His completed Word. The Bible is a miracle, theopneustos, God’s breath on the page. Today we slow our pace to marvel at this extraordinary truth.
God breathed life into mankind, and that same Spirit divinely inspired men to carry His message. From Genesis’ “in the beginning” to Revelation’s “amen” and every bit in-between, God’s Word stands as it is – His Word.
That is extraordinary. The Bible is complete, inerrant, infallible, authoritative, unchanging, and sufficient. The simplicity is profound. God breathed and inspired … a miracle… a miracle bringing life still today.
He gave us an invitation to come running, to be changed, and to be reminded of who we are because of who He is. He breathed it out so we could know of His mighty love for us and our desperate needs.
The Bible is unlike any other.
It is a good and perfect gift.
It is a power beyond our own.
God has much to say and much yet to accomplish. We cannot afford to allow His inspired breath to sit dusty on our shelves and remain ineffective in our lives. We were meant for God’s Word, and it was meant for us. Many are His wonders.
The Bible is a glimpse of all that is to come from this side of eternity. When we slow down enough to grasp what we hold in our hands, it knocks our knees and compels us to fall at His feet with nothing to offer except ourselves.
To where else can we run?
Who else holds the words of life?
We’re All In.
o We praise You for the miracle of Your Word and lovingly providing it to us.
o We confess that we often take it for granted and allow it to remain ineffective.
o Deepen our hunger and sharpen our respect for Your Word so we remember the good gift that it is and make it a priority in our lives.
o Glorify Your Word in us, our church, community, and world.
