All In Daily Devotional March 4: The Power of a Spirit-Filled Life
First Redeemer Church
The Power of a Spirit-Filled Life
“Do you not know? Have you not heard? Yahweh is the everlasting God, the Creator of the whole earth. He never grows faint or weary; there is no limit to His understanding. He gives strength to the weary and strengthens the powerless. Youths may faint and grow weary, and young men stumble and fall, but those who trust in the Lord will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not faint.”
Isaiah 40:28-31
God is God, and we are not. It is clearly so. We stop to thank Him for the
power in a Spirit-filled life. It is a power beyond our own. This joy is ours
to remember.
Our need is blatant. We know us. We tire and spin and too easily forget the treasure that is ours. We depend on everything else except Him, and it is not pleasant. Our wisdom is not wisdom at all, and even the best of intentions are incapable of accomplishing what only He can.
We need Him to with us.
We need Him to do His great work from the inside-out.
We need Him.
There is beauty here. We do not have to wonder, and our ways are not hidden. The God who calls the stars by name is our God. He does not lack wisdom or grow weary. He is always available for us to run to Him, empty ourselves, and be filled up again and again.
We have what we need in every way because His Spirit is our difference maker. We are invited to walk in His sufficiency and are free to give Him reign in every crevice of our lives. We have Him, and He has us. Every time we lay ourselves aside, God aligns us with His will and produces fruit. When we are full of Him, we love what He loves and pursue what He pursues. Our weariness is renewed, and we stand in a strength not our own. In Him, we draw courage to follow Him step-by-step.
There is power in a Spirit-filled life. It is a power beyond our own.
The everlasting God does not grow tired or weary. He is willing to do what only He can; His Spirit is mighty in us. Oh believer, oh church, lift your eyes. How effective would we be should we grasp this, really get it, this side of eternity?
Yes, we have heard.
Oh, how we know.
We’re All In.
o We praise you for your willingness to walk with us and for your Spirit within. Thank you for being sufficient for us in every way.
o Forgive us for striving in our own strength and forgetting our dependence on you. Help us run to you and give you reign in every aspect of our lives.
o We pray you continue your mighty work in our church, community, and world as only you can and that we are yielded vessels for your good and glory.
