All In Daily Devotional March 20 A Picture of Sacrifice – Jesus’ Sacrifice for Us

A Picture of Sacrifice – Jesus’ Sacrifice for Us

“But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.”

Romans 5:8

God accomplished what we never could. While we were sinners, He demonstrated to us His love. He did not wait for us to be better or meet Him halfway. He knew we would not come running, and He pursued us while we were still under the weight of our own chains.

What a picture of grace unearned.

What an undeserved gift.

When we slow our busy pace to ponder, we see how our unworthiness magnifies His sacrifice. It drops us to our knees because we know the depths of our sins. It’s amazing how He called us His before we ever thought to love Him back.

At His feet, we find freedom in mercy. What we never deserved, He provided. He gave His very best. In the same manner, we are invited to give all we have for Him.

God so loved the world and gave His very own Son. Jesus completed the work on the cross. The Spirit guarantees we are His. His is a power beyond our own. Love and sacrifice are inseparable.  We have His enduring example that will never fade.

We look to the Father.

We look to the Son.

We look to His indescribable sacrifice and fall on our faces once again.

He loved first and His love shows. His sacrifice is our salvation. Oh what manner of love the Father has given. Oh what manner of love is ours in Christ.

How can we give anything less than our best?

How could we withhold everything He deserves?

We’re All In.

o   We praise You, God, for Your sacrificial gift to us in Your Son, Jesus.

o   We praise You for His cross that extends to us what we do not deserve.

o   Thank You for showing us that love demonstrates sacrifice as we follow Your example.

o   Help us love others in the same manner that you love them.

o   Give us opportunities to sacrifice our best, so others may experience the great and costly love and grace You demonstrated on the cross.
