We are God’s Ambassadors; He Makes His Appeal Through Us

“Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, certain that God is appealing through us.

We plead on Christ’s behalf, ‘Be reconciled to God.’”

2 Corinthians 5:20

Here we find our highest calling. We represent God’s kingdom, and He entrusts us with His message. We are charged to display His glorious gospel.

How easily we lose sight. How often we lack courage. How quickly we muddy the message meant to shine because we look more like the world around us than the one that is our home.  Oh, how we need to remember.

The point of our lives is not us.

How freeing and completely glorious. God reconciled us through Jesus. He who had no sin was made sin for us so that we in Him could be declared whole. In just a short while, we will be in our heavenly home. But until that day, we have a pressing mission.

God is making His appeal to a desperate world, and we are invited to carry His banner with lives that shout. Our time, talent, and treasure all have a chance to testify. We are letters, fragrant aromas, and bright beacons of the only story worth telling.

It matters greatly. Dim lights lack luster and point to nothing. We are accountable for what is not our own. We must steward the gospel well. His is a power beyond our own.

People need to hear and see the message. We must proclaim and portray it until they say, “We have seen and know that He indeed is the Savior of the world.”  Citizens of heaven have a purpose to fulfill, and our earthly time is short.

Our Master is coming again. We are His letter to a perishing world. Silence is not an option.

Let’s not bury His good gift, so glory falls into place right where it belongs.

Our Master has given us all we have.

Who are we to withhold anything from Him?

We’re All in.

o   We praise You for Your continued faithfulness to save and for Your gospel that rescues.

o   We thank You for the invitation to be Your ambassadors and ask You to help us steward it well.

o   Forgive us for the times we cloud the message and fail to let your light shine through us.

o   Help us empty ourselves at Your feet so You can accomplish what only You can.

o   Give us courage as we carry Your gospel message to our community and our world.
